Yucatan “Seafood Hushpuppies”

Amazing sharable appetizer with a dramatic plate presentation inspired by the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula region. You will experience a “double crunch” by breading our “Seafood Hushpuppies” in a beer batter and enhancing the dish with a lemon beurre blanc sauce.

Ingredients

12 Each Mini Breaded Krabbycakes® .4 oz. (Item# 073555)
2 Cups Beer Batter Prepared
2 Cups Panko Bread Crumbs
4 Each Fried Plantains, Sliced Lengthwise
2 Ounces Lemon Beurre Blanc Sauce
2 Each Lime Wedges
2 Each Cilantro Garnish

Directions

  1. Dip each Krabbycakes® into beer batter, roll into panko and fry to order in 350°F oil to 165°F internal temperature.
  2. To assemble lay the plantains across the plate, top with 12 dollops of beurre blanc and place Krabbycakes® atop each dollop.
  3. Garnish with the lime wedges and cilantro.
